Garima Bikas Bank Announces Rs 1.01 Crore Contribution for Bhotekoshi Flood Relief
KATHMANDU — Garima Bikas Bank Limited has announced a total contribution of Rs 1,01,11,111 for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on August 26, 2026 (10 Bhadra 2083), with the contribution coming jointly from the bank and its employees.
According to the bank, employees contributed a sum equivalent to one day's salary and allowance, amounting to Rs 16,20,550, while the bank contributed an additional Rs 34,90,561 in cash, bringing the combined total to Rs 51,11,111. This amount has been deposited into the Prime Minister's Disaster Management Relief Fund to support the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of citizens across the various districts affected by the flood.
In addition, the bank said it has committed a further Rs 50,00,000 from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund to provide direct support, in coordination with local bodies, for programs related to education, health, and the rehabilitation of citizens in the affected areas.
Garima Bikas Bank expressed heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in the disaster and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved families. The bank also wished a swift recovery to those injured and affected, and expressed hope that the coordinated efforts of affected citizens, local communities, government bodies, security agencies, non-governmental organizations, and all stakeholders would strengthen relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts during this difficult time.
