US$20,000 Relief Support to Flood Victims Through NCC
Kathmandu, September 15 — Food Empire Holdings Limited, Singapore, the producer of the globally renowned MacCoffee brand, has extended support worth US$20,000 for citizens affected by recent floods in Nepal. The assistance was channelled through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) with the aim of delivering relief and humanitarian aid to the affected areas.
The contribution is intended to supply essential relief materials to flood-hit regions, including Rasuwa, which was among the districts recently affected by flooding.
NCC Executive Committee Member and CEO of Arkash Group, Rajul Shrestha, said that Food Empire Holdings Limited, Singapore, provided the assistance through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in coordination with Arkash Group.
According to Shrestha, arrangements have been made to distribute the support received from Food Empire Holdings in the form of food and other essential materials, based on an assessment of the immediate needs of affected citizens.
Shrestha said that, in line with Food Empire Holdings' wishes, priority has been given to the basic necessities of flood-affected citizens. In the first phase, relief materials including food, clothing, and sanitary pads were distributed in the Upper Trishuli area.
In this first phase, relief materials worth approximately NPR 300,000 have already been distributed. Shrestha further stated that, based on the demands of the affected communities, additional relief materials worth NPR 2.7 million will be sent to the affected areas in the coming days.
